More is not better. Eliminate the “no pain, no gain” mentality.

At Hacienda del Sol we believe physical movement should be treated as a nutrient that feeds your freedom to move and melts away stress hormones. Activities that accomplish this is what we call nutritious movement. Nutritious movement is also about cultivating a deeper connection with your body and not just pushing as hard as you can so you can to burn more calories or get “better results”. The best results come when you use physical activity to melt stress hormones and gain pain free movement. You do this by going to your edge but not falling past it. You know you’ve gone past it when you are performing a physical activity purely using a stress hormone dump. This is experienced as a feeling of separation from your body or the infamous tunnel vision. The antidote for this is to always remain mindful of what you are doing. Nutritious movement conditions you that when you are experiencing a mind-body disconnection, you will slow down, reconnect, and then continue exploring your edge while never going over it. This guarantees you’ll be processing the stress hormones rather than adding to your daily stress load, and safely expanding your physical freedom.

Our primal yoga classes, reflect and recharge classes, and primal fitness classes, are all rich with nutritious movement.

Primal Yoga:

  • It moves dynamically between tensión and releasing, the Yang and the Yin.
  • Focus is on movement. 90 blissful minutes of dipping in and out into flow state.

Primal fitness:

  • High intensity training, rich in ranges of motion.
  • Primal fitness offers an antidote for the no pain, no gain mentality that inevitably leads to injury.
  • Engage in progressive body movement exercises that take you to your limit while still managing to strengthen your body-mind connection.

Reflect and recharge classes:

  • A collection of western and eastern Yin practices focused on activating the parasympathetic nervous system in unique ways, while teaching you the essential skill of processing the stress that has accumulated through out the day, therefore avoiding the eventual condition of chronic stress.

  • One of the things we struggle with with the wellness industry, is that it calls us to be constantly seeking wellness outside ourselves. Don’t get us wrong, there are so many amazing experts, resources, and products out there, being lead by amazing people with great intentions. Still, this is our friendly reminder to start your wellness journey by going inward first. Check in with your body, your mind, your breath. How do you feel? What do you need? What makes sense for you? Then search out what you’re in need of. Getting lost in the sea of wellness products, info, and what everyone else is doing can be a slippery slope, because it doesn’t seem like it’s inherently wrong. It’s *healthy* right? 
But we believe the true path to wellness comes from connecting within, and doing what’s right for you, not what everyone else says!
