We are regularly asked what guests should remember to bring along with them to Hacienda Del Sol. Here is a list of recommended items. Personal toiletries, medical needs, natural insect repellent, bee sting kit if you are allergic to bee stings, natural sunblock or tanning lotion, a flashlight, a copy of your passport a notebook and an umbrella if you are coming during the rainy season (April-November). It's also recommended that you contact your bank or credit card company to let them know you are traveling in Costa Rica. If you think you will need to make any international phone calls a prepaid international calling card is recommended as well.
Dollars are widely accepted in Costa Rica but the national currency is Colones. If you decide to exchange your countries currency for Colones we recommend doing so at a bank or just withdrawing from an ATM machine. The exchange rate at airports is terrible. We also recommend bringing about $100.00 in small denomination bills. We accept dollars or colones. Paypal, bank wire transfers, No credit cards, personal checks or travelers checks please.
We do offer free wi-fi internet service but we do not have a guest computer so please bring your own laptop.
We use the same electrical current and connections as in North America so your personal electrical items will plug right in. If you are coming from Europe you may need to bring a plug adapter.
There is a $26.00 per person exit fee charged when you depart Costa Rica by air so be sure to set that amount aside. Otherwise there are ATM's machines at Liberia and San Jose Airports. It's also a good way to use up the last of your colones! You can also pay this tax right after you land in Costa Rica which saves you from having to stand in line to pay your tax when you depart.
The Buddha Hall offers 1600 square feet of open space for your retreat experience. All the buildings have been designed with high thatched palm roofs providing cool comfort in the warm tropical climate of Costa Rica!
The restaurant offers a healthy and nutritious variety of foods. With seating for up to 40 guests, families, couples and groups are able to enjoy sensual meals. Special dietary needs can be arranged before your stay.
Local tropical fruits, vegetables, and seafood are prepared in a health-conscious, nutritious manner to satisfy every palette! We meet the needs of individual diets and cater to groups as well.
